Operasi Cili Padi is a bunch of people with the heart for community. Our focus is on building homes with urban low-income families through small construction community building. We also believe that every individual has the potential to make a difference in his or her own lives. Therefore, along with building homes, we also aim to empower communities by providing long term strategies to financially sustain participating individual and families. Like the cili padi, our vision; "Small Initiatives, Big Impact" aims to use small budgets to create a large impact on building community. This is done by 3 scales of projects:
01_Repair [repairing current condition of house] 02_Renew [creating new furniture to reactivate spaces] 03_Renovate [small renovations to reorganise the house]
Our current target is to work with a family in Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara. The home owner's name is Komathy whom is a single mother of 4.She works 6 days a week to support her family.
The plan is to only take up 1 weekend of a month to repair/renew/renovate the house over the span of 6 months.
